Sylvana's Lament
Sylvana's Lament
The moonlight glistens around my feet
The starlight seems to wish to meet
My prey this long and snowy night.
I scan the alleyways and find
My prey so weary, yet I do not mind
Her blood, to me; will bring the light.
Once I was, as my prey now lives
A woman, young: with a life and dreams.
Now I am a creature of the night
And nothing is ever what it seems.
My name was once the name for love,
Now I am cursed by the stars above.
I find my compassion turned to stone
My prey, she wanders this path alone.
She holds me close, I kiss her throat
Her hot young blood warms and fills my mouth
I have a moment of reprieve.
I wonder if I will ever see
The sunlight shine so merrily
I look at the stars in wonderment
And shout to them a defying lament.
